The Soft Cup pessary, available with or without a supporting membrane, is used for a first or a mild second-degree uterine prolapse. The soft Cup pessary is flexible and soft any may be a better option for someone with a tighter introitus and/or more delicate connective tissue composition. They will also flex more for an active user who may find the firmer cup uncomfortable.

Indication first or mild second degree prolapse
Insertion Fold the chosen pessary at the notches with concavity facing upwards. Separate the labia minor posteriorly at the introitus with the non-dominant hand. Hold folded pessary firmly and insert through the introitus,slide into the vagina by curving it posteriorly. Release and allow to spring open to its normal shape Push deep into the vaginal vault Tuck securely behind pubic bone anteriorly and under the cervix (if present) posteriorly
Removal Wash your hands thoroughly (it is not necessary to use gloves).  Relax with your knees apart. Insert your fingers into your vagina until you feel the side part of your pessary. Loop your finger over the Cup rim and begin pulling the pessary downward. As you pull the pessary down, use your fingers to pinch (compress) it into a narrower shape. Pull the pessary down and out of the vagina. The pessary will return to its original Cup shape once it is outside of your body.
